Establish, maintain and promote the Environment Centre at a location easily accessible to the public.
Through its general activities and by
operating the Environment Centre TREC aims to:
1 actively solicit the membership, financial support and advice of local/regional conservation, natural history and heritage groups, land care groups, local councils,
and other opportunity for them to publicise their views;
2 gather, display and disseminate information relating to nature conservation, heritage preservation, environmental protection, land management and energy
and materials conservation, global issues and peace.
3 enhance communication and assist in the coordination of activities among regional groups with an interest in environmental issues and provide a link between
these regional groups and those operating at state, national and international levels;
4 advocate, promote and actively extend the concepts of ecologically sustainable development and environmental conservation in
ways that are consistent with social justice;
5 monitor the course of regional planning and development and to provide public comment and take action as and where deemed necessary.
6 generate public
support for environmental issued by lobbying, publicity, and other non-violent means, as an independent body or in co-operation with individuals, member and relevant interest groups.
